Abstract

Candida albicans (C.albicans) is an opportunistic pathogenic fungus that causes candidiasis. Antifungal chemicals have been discovered in the plants Eichhornia crassipes and Pistia stratiotes. The goal of this work was to determine the best combination of Eichhornia crassipes (EC) and Pistia stratiotes (EP) extracts to inhibit C.albicans ATCC 1023. The paper disc diffusion technique was employed in this experimental in vitro investigation. The inhibition zone data from 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% EC and PE extracts, as well as the ketoconazole control, were evaluated using the One-way Anava test and Duncan's post-hoc test. The inhibition zone of the EC+PS combo therapy was found to be moderate (8.3 0.50 mm) to extremely strong (21.12 0.002 mm). The combination of EC100%+PS100% showed an effect comparable to ketoconazole (p0.05).
